Indian Ocean Race boys prepare to leave for Australia
A crazy week here at LWS and the buzz words around all the networking groups are that business is tough – but good. Here in design and web – along with perhaps the banks – we tend to notice whether the start ups are around or not – and for the last few months there have been very few. But this week the phone’s been ringing off the hook with new businesses taking the plunge. It may be increased redundancies – but that’s been going on a while anyway – so it can only be good news that people feel confident to strike out on their own. With a property business in hand too I can’t say the title of this post is completely accurate as things are still really tough there but there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Loads going on this week as usual – meeting a possible new trainee account manager for the business tomorrow and then our accountants (groan – sorry Spofforths). Spending Wednesday with our fantastic chartered marketeer Dee with Charlotte from Sussex based Bennett Griffin solicitors doing their new brochure, then onto the Worthing Chamber of Commerce ‘Chamber Chat’.
Got a great new potential client coming in Thursday who does all kind of wonders with skin serums. Up at the crack Fri for Arundel BNI which is buzzing at the moment . Meeting Natalie from Page Marketing at lunchtime.
Matt’s off to meet a couple of new clients too this week – both referrals – it’s great that this kind of business keeps flowing – search engines are great but word of mouth marketing is what we’ve always been about.
It’s off to Surrey Friday evening to meet all my ex Homebase colleagues -where Julian and I worked prior to LWS and then into the city Saturday night for the black tie leaving do for the Indian Ocean Race boys (who LWS sponsor – can’t wait to see all our branding on their canoes and equipment) – about to go off to try and break the world record – and raise money for Orchid, the male cancer charity – by rowing from Perth to Mauritius – good luck guys!!
Sunday – well all that will be left to do is take advantage of the Grange City hotel, get a great massage and well, I may even get some sleep
